After fleeing from the Wrath and escaping from the city, Shiva makes it known that the Archessence has surely taken over the city and everyone in it by now, much to Tracy, Joe and Vicky's distress. Everyone wants to make plans to return in order to save their families and loved ones as well as the city, but Shiva makes it clear that there's no hope for the ones they left behind. Joe sneaks off alone regardless to return to the city, hoping to find some way-any way-to beat the Wrath and save his mom, determined not to let anything stand in his way. However, he finds that his mother is no longer the woman she thinks she is!
