Hugh Lambert is a man of many problems: problems with professors, problems with his punk rock housemates and, most of all, problems with women. A parapsychology student in the Reagan era, Hugh has no job prospects and only one friend"Abby Stoltz, a profane and ever-indignant artist. But then, late one night, Hugh accepts a Tarot reading from a beautiful stranger, and everything begins to change.
