Jiujiang is located in the northern part of Jiangxi Province, close to famous landmarks that include Lu Mountain, the Yangtze River, which is the longest river in China, and Poyang Lake, which is the largest freshwater lake in China. Jiujiang has two districts, nine counties and one county-level city under its jurisdiction.
