Hekou Yao Autonomous County is located in the southeastern part of Yunnan Province adjacent to Vietnam. It is one of Yunnan’s major border land port cities. Hekou has a tropical climate. The weather is usually hot and humid with temperatures reaching 40.9°C in the summer and 2.1°C in the winter. Hekou has many forests, wild animals and cash crops.
