These inter-related short stories are set in a small Mexican fishing village, Bahia de los angeles--a real place in Baja California, 350 miles from the USA border. As the villagers largely depend upon American tourists for their income, many stories deal with the resulting clash of cultures. Dominating Bahia, a treacherous mountain, Tricky Devil, almost pushes the village into the Sea of Cortez.
