The hero, Henry, a small town insurance agent has a love of art, history, fishing, and women. The story takes place in southwestern North Dakota and each chapter has something about fishing. The drug trade from Mexico to Denver to Rapid City through the fictional town of Grainville to Canda includes four murders. The life style and the history of the area are included in the novel.
