A historical novel set in Britain under the Roman occupation, based on the revolt led by the Celtic Cadhweloenau (Catuvellauni) tribe and their king Caratacos (Caractacus). The story's main character, Colen, joins the retinue of Caratacos's druid Llygadog, and together they are involved in many adventures, battles and intrigues, until the king faces his final crisis at the hands of the Romans.
