"Mothering" contains three, true stories about mothers. The first story, "Birthing Marissa," is an intimate, personal look at childbirth from a mother's perspective. "Getting to Know Kathy," the second story in this triology, tells how one woman comes to know a mother she will never get to meet. Then, "Mama Cat and Me," is the author's own story about a life-lesson she learned from a mama cat.
