Each story touches on a different time in the life of someone who has lived in this city most of their life, me.

The first time I visited New York City, a native New Yorker guessed right away that I was from Chicago. “New Yorkers are crazy, but you, people from Chicago are bizarre. I dig you. I dig bizarre.”

I think he got it right.
