In the year of our Lord 1906, Rebecca Pepperidge, a nine year old English farm girl, is bitten by a werewolf. Rebecca is a good girl but it is no longer wise to tease her unwontedly or to harm helpless animals in her presence, and then there are the times when she gets so very, very hungry.
