“Bloodbrother Bear” is set in northern California in the late 1940s. A mountain man, hired by a natural history museum to collect specimens, encounters a “rogue” bear, a former camp raider relocated from a national park. The bear has no fear of humans, and in fact feels an affinity for them. The man feels empathy with the bear as well, until their joined fates become a duel for survival.
