In the Shadow is a reflection of the misuse of personal power and privilege but most importantly, paints a picture of the the complex interrelationships between diverse nations and the protection of their own. Current tensions exacerbated by longstanding U.S. troop presence in Afghanistan, and U.S. expectations for Pakistani cooperation, are central to this story and its resolution.
