The Edge of Oblivion

On the run from a probation officer, 16 year-old Paul and his disabled friend Billy accept a strange invitation to a magical paradise. For years, outcast children have been recruited here, the invitation delivered by a half-blind, clairvoyant raven named Livingston. For any kid who has ever wanted a second chance at life, Splendor is a refuge, a place where the very thing that made them outsiders, now makes them strangely powerful. Now, as commander of the mutant armies of Oblivion, he ransacks the city in a search for the singular source of magic, the essence that keeps Splendor and her refuges alive. Paul is told he was recruited to Splendor for a reason, that he alone can lead his new friends to save the city. But how? Paul is the only one in Splendor without a magical talent – or is he? Paul must discover the awesome power - and the terrible curse - of his own hidden magic, before he can lead a band of misfit kids into battle against an army of wonderfully weird and grotesque monsters.
