Counsel for the Mercenaries

Robert E. Maine, a well-known Chicago attorney, is retained to represent the American mercenaries who are two of thirteen mercenaries captured by the communist-socialist government of the African country of Angola during a civil war. The Peoples Revolutionary Tribunal of Angola will conduct a trial of the mercenaries, but have made it known to the world that the mercenaries will be shot before a firing squad. Robert Maine's journey to Angola to represent the American mercenaries will involve him in political intrigue, assassination, the CIA, the catholic church in Angola, a romantic entanglement and culminates in an exciting twist which has international reprucussions.

This book was based upon the actual trial of thirteen mercenaries in the African country of Angola which occurred in 1976.
