Jade had dreamed of being a wealthy wife one day, and she had done whatever she had to do to make that dream come true. Jade had married one of the wealthiest, most famous physicians in the world. She had a house with three stories, an elevator, indoor and outdoor pools, and an endless supply of money to buy all the designer clothes that she desired. Jade’s best friend, Sandi, had married just as well as she, and the two of them had always done everything together, and being married didn’t end their fun. Sometimes, however, the two young brides get into a little more trouble than they had planned.
Excerpt:
Sandi parked her Lexus in front of the seedy bar where the two girls used to hang out. “Can you believe that it’s been three years since we’ve been here?” “I know, Jade. We’re twenty-one now. That sounds so old.” “But it helps to have husbands who are ten years older,” Jade laughed.
They walked into the smoke filled bar and immediately all eyes were on them. The men wanted to eat them and the women wanted to kill them. “Ladies, a beer for you,” the bartender said. “Oh, we’re just…” “Compliments of the two gentlemen in the corner,” he said, urging the two girls to accept the offers.
Jade and Sandi walked around the bar, enjoying the stares of both the men and the women. Before they knew it, the two men who had bought their beers were dancing with them. “I don’t know about you, Jade, but all Aaron wants to listen to is jazz.” “You’re lucky, Sandi. Parker listens only to classical.” A slow song was beginning to play, and Sandi and Jade knew they shouldn’t dance with these guys they didn’t know, but they had finished their beers and were feeling quite good. The two men held out their arms. “May I hold a beautiful lady?” one of the men asked Sandi. “Sandi, no,” Jade said. “It’s just a dance,” Sandi protested. She went to the man and held him tighter than even she had thought she would. “Well, let’s not let them have all the fun,” the other man said to Jade. Jade reluctantly went to the man and let him hold her while they danced. Jade enjoyed the man’s strong arms around her. He smelled like some kind of woodsy cologne, and Jade liked it. He smelled manly, and his arms around her felt manly, too. “So, ladies, how ‘bout another drink?” Sandi winked at Jade, and Jade had no idea what that meant.
