A Year Till 40

On January 14, 2009, I celebrated my 39th birthday on a business trip, alone, in a Panera Bread in Fort Smith, Arkansas. As I contemplated what my life had been like up until that point, and what I wanted to accomplish in the coming year, I could only come up with one thing: writing. So, I decided that in an effort to make my birthdays mean more to me, I would begin a blog to get my random, daily thoughts out. I had no idea where the project would take me. My hope was to learn something about myself, and to share my life with others. I wanted to rediscover the excitement I had each year, in anticipation for the next January 14. I missed the butterflies of my youth.

“A Year Till 40” is memoir which chronicles the life of a man teetering on the edge of 40.
