Out of Time

OUT OF TIME is a thrilling adventure novel that tells the story of Drew Evans, a police officer in one of St. Paul's worst gang-infested precincts, is working crowd control during the Republican National Convention when he recovers a device that allows him to travel through time. He uses the device to travel back to 1947 Chicago to see his father, renowned musician Doc Evans, who died during Drew's teenage years. He visits just as his father is getting his big break at the new Jazz Ltd nightclub.

Even when time-space laws are suspended, Drew learns Murphy’s Law is always operating. Shortly after arriving at the club, he breaks up a robbery, causing the Chicago mob to have a newfound interest in the club. During an intense confrontation with mob leaders, he realizes the only way to get them to leave again is by making them believe someone else is running the area.

Faced with near insurmountable odds, Drew has no choice but to use his device to bring his by-the-book partner back to help. Together they use their 21st century gang experience to create a fictional organized crime family they hope will fend off the mob. Drew races to save his father’s future, all the while risking his own life as well as the opportunity to reconnect with his father.
