Atonement

Archie Shultz, Chief of Police of West Clover Bottom, Minnesota is confronted with murder, scandal, and greed. To add to his woes, the relationship with his long time lady friend, whom he describes as, “that pesky Ruth Ann Boyer,” is threatened when she is attacked and severely injured. Reacting to her medications, she breaks off their love affair. Devastated, he succumbs to the advances of Heather Maple. Archie must find out not only who committed the murders, but also assaulted Ruth Ann.
