A Tale of Two Cities is one of Charles Dickens' most famous works and is one of the most printed titles in the English language. The story chronicles the French Revolution, following the lives of several protagonists through the years of aristocratic brutality leading up to the revolution and the peasant retaliation during the revolution. The title comes from the uncomfortable parallels that Dickens draws to life in London during the same time period.
