THE LITTLE LADY OF THE BIG HOUSE is a semi-autobiographical romance novel involving a love triangle. Dick Forrest, a California rancher with a poetic streak, is married to Paula, a vivacious, athletic, and sexually self-aware woman. Bored with ranch life, Paula becomes involved with Evan Graham. The story follows in many ways the married life of Charmian and Jack London.
