The Road to Forever is a fast paced thriller that follows three main characters, a serial killer and the two detectives that are hunting him down.
Detective Simeon Jackson is a veteran police officer with a history of catching the worst criminals a big city has to offer. Through intelligence, experience and hard work, he has developed the ability to see a crime unfold before his mind's eye merely by studying the scene where it took place. This has made him one of the best homicide detectives in the country. However, things were not always so easy for him. With a violent past that almost cost him his badge, a major case and his self respect, things had to change for Simeon. Something happened that changed him forever and made him the man and the detective he is today.
Detective Bill Edwards is new to the squad. Assigned to learn from Detective Jackson, he sees this as just another stumbling block in the way of getting to where he really wants to be. Bill Edwards has always been focused on where he wanted to be, but never where he is. Full of ambition, he thought becoming a detective would finally allow him the freedom to be his own man. After reluctantly becoming a student of a veteran detective, he finds out just how much he has to learn.
Detectives Jackson and Edwards find their lives and careers changed when a serial killer is leaving bodies and very little clues around their city. Through this third, complex character, the reader sees inside the mind of a killer and learns what it takes to lead a man to take the life of another human being.
The Road to Forever tells the story from both sides, with fast paced action and psychological twists. In the end, it is a story of faith, human growth and triumph over the evil all too prevalent in today's world.
