Holmes the Ripper is about Ian Dean, an investigator with Scotland Yard in the 1880s. Ian becomes disenchanted with the Jack the Ripper case he is assigned to after the crimes end and the case is not solved.Ian leaves England and moves to the United States. He gets a job as a U. S. Marshall and is assigned to Judge Parker at Fort Smith, Arkansas. He works in the rugged Indian Territory of Oklahoma and beyond. Ian gradually becomes interested in the murder of Belle Starr and a brutal double ax murder in Massachusetts. During his investigation of these crimes, along with his normal duties, Ian develops an interest in a series of missing persons from Chicago around the time of the Chicago World's Fair in 1892 a/k/a the Columbia Exposition. Ian Dean starts working with police from Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and the Pinkerton Detective agency. Along the way, Wyatt Earp enters the picture. Many of the world's most famous murders are solved through the efforts of Ian and his associates.
