Phaedra by Racine

PHAEDRA by Jean Racine is a dramatic tragedy in five acts first performed in 1677. Drawn from Greek mythology, PHAEDRA is an episode in the life of the wife of the Greek hero Theseus. In the absence of her royal husband Theseus, Phaedra ends by declaring her love to Hippolytus, Theseus' son from a previous marriage.
