The Numbers Man

Pat, a 63 year old former geophysicist, desperate for romance, believes the only way to find a good woman on the Internet is to meet lots of them. Each one he meets asks him how many women he has met. When he tells them, each one says: “Then I am Number XX.” Pat remembers their numbers rather than their names, a consequence of his scientific training—-who could ever remember all those names? He has a romance with Beth, #57, who goes out of town for an extended period. So he gets back onto the Internet and takes up with Donna, #59, a lovely attorney. Meanwhile, his employee’s gorgeous young wife, Ruby, keeps hitting on him. Life becomes even more complicated when he meets Joyce,#61, a TV chef, who considers him a womanizer. Then Beth returns to town and Pat is unsure which romance to pursue. Is the advice he gets from Sonia, his book promoter, selfless or self-serving?
