Frances Ridley Havergal (1836-1879) was an English poet and hymn writer. She began writing verses at the young age of seven. She wrote many hymns including the well know one: "Take My Life and Let It Be." Other hymns written by her include: "Like A River Glorious,""I Gave My Life for Thee,"and "Who Is on the Lord's Side?" as well as others. She published several volumes of poems and hymns. Her book "Kept For the Master's Use is based on her hymn Take My Life and Let It Be, Consecrated, Lord to Thee.
