THE SCARLET PLAGUE is a post-apocalyptic novel which takes place in 2073, sixty years after an uncontrollable epidemic has depopulated the planet. James Howard Smith is one of the few survivors of the pre-plague world left alive in the San Francisco area. As his life comes to an end, he realizes he must pass along his knowledge of the pre-epidemic world to his grandchildren.
