Blanket Effect

Chad Palmer was a musician waiting for his successful debut in the music industry. Katlin Wells has been his girlfriend while he went through the beginning stages, playing gigs for clubs, always supporting Chad and always there for him. When Chad is discovered, Katlin stays by his side supporting his life as a rock star.
Chad was playing in a world tour which took him away from being with Katlin. Katlin was running her business and desperately seeking Chad’s love and closeness.
When it all began, Chad made time for her and their love. It all changed when the stardom came. Chad couldn’t come home because he was too busy or something came up every time he tried. Katlin felt hurt and alone. She issued Chad a warning and gave him a chance to make up for it.

Katlin agreed to fly from the United States to Australia to spend time with Chad even though she hated to fly. Things went wrong from the start of the trip starting with coach seating and talkative seat mates.
When the storm hit, the plane ride got bumpy. When the storm worsened the trip was scary. One engine hit by lightening, the other conked out. All on the plane knew it was not going to be easy making it out alive or in a storm with raging waves, wind, and rain.
Katlin’s one thought was to tell Chad how she felt before the crash. Chad couldn’t take the call, for it would interfere with his schedule. When he played the message back he knew Katlin was in trouble, all he heard was screaming and then silence.

Chad searched all over for Katlin. She was never found. Chad’s life went from Rock Star to catatonic within months, until he was entered in at a clinic for those who couldn't manage themselves. His family is kept from him, and the patients are mistreated.

Katlin was afloat for days on end, in and out of consciousness until she ended up on a beach of an island inhabited by natives. The island people cared for Katlin.
Katlin could not remember who she was or from where she had come. Dreams came and went with faces of people she didn’t know. A brief flash of a plane crash, which she assumed, is how she ended up on the island. Katlin healed and adjusted to the islander’s way of life, but was haunted by the dreams and flashes. The islanders couldn’t bring her memories back.

One day a trader came to the island. He seemed to know Katlin did not belong; she didn't talk to him about it. The trader thought he might check into her past and use it to earn money by her return, or by selling the information to her. Months went by until the trader convinced someone who cared to buy the files he had on Katlin’s former life.

When the files are given to Katlin, she doesn't know if she wants to go back.
