Déjà Vu

San Franciso homicide detective Jim Pierce is having Déjà Vu. A new series of murders are occurring in the city which are too much like a former case to just be coincidental. Trouble is, he and his former partner caught the killer and put him away. Or did they?

In the first series if murders, Pierce and his former partner are tracking down a serial killer known as "the Love Letter Killer" as the murderer sends his victims warning letters before hunting them down.

Pierce recognizes the M.O. when the new murders begin but tries to believe it is only a coincidence until he and his new partner dicover a "Love Letter" among one of their victim's belongings. Then Pierce cannot ignore the former case any longer.

The book weaves the stories of both cases, alternating between chapters with the events of the new case mirroring the old one, giving Pierce Déjà Vu.
