Sheriff, A Pete And Charley Adventure

Pete & Charley’s adventures began 8 years ago while my oldest son and I were on an adventure of our own. While driving the family belongings across America, from North Carolina to Oregon, the need for “entertainment” became quite important. Following my son’s imaginative suggestions, a tale of two young dinosaurs and their escapades took shape. As we made our way through Texas and Arizona, tumble weeds and canyons gave birth to a t-rex named Herb who was a champion for justice in the Wild West. My constant vacation experiences in Central Oregon fed the story, and “The Sheriff” was born! PETE and CHARLEY, a pair of young, t-shirt clad dinosaurs, live in a small, rural town. Though generally very animated, an argument leaves them totally bored. Pete’s observant DAD comes to the rescue. He begins to unfold the story of Pete’s great, great, uncle named HERB; a famous sheriff in the Wild West! The sheriff’s idyllic life is disrupted one pristine morning when shocking news arrives with the local stage. A close, but estranged, friend has been framed! Moved by memories, and accompanied by his best friend JERRY, the Sheriff sets out on a Wild West adventure of mystery and vindication. Their journey takes them into the infamous crime haven of Slither Gulch. Here, they are pitted against a crooked sheriff named FORK TONGUE and his band of rogue dinos! As Herb and Jerry race to capture the bad guys, find the lost friend, and save a town, they quickly discover how deep and irreplaceable true friendship really is. Over the course of ten chapters, Pete’s dad takes the boys down a dusty road to the foot of forgiveness. By the end of the story, he leaves them with smiles on their faces and a deeper appreciation for each other.
