A Collection of Civil War Short Stories

Most books written on the Civil War cover a military engagement or prominent figure during the War. This collection of short stories looks at different aspects of the War. The stories provides readers with a look into the life of the Civil War soldier, the medical care the wounded received, life in a POW Camp, the newspaper correspondents that covered the war, the musicians that lead the soldiers in battle and finally the reunion of Civil War veterans.
The stories also cover the preparation for war, methods to move troops in the 1860s, mapmaking, and the building of pontoon bridges to attack the enemy. The articles originally appeared in the Battlefield Journal a Civil War Newspaper.
