The Missing Lake. One morning, sitting down on the shore to fish at his favorite lake,COOCHIE MALOO discovers that the lake has been stolen. The townspeople immediately gather; all are mystified and angry. They demand a return of their lake.
A local person, MICHAEL BUCKLE learns Coochie has solved previous mysteries and convinces the townspeople to let Coochie and his investigative team find the lake. The team consists of brilliant LISA WEBBER (age thirteen), Asian scientific genius HOW NOW (fourteen), and BILLY BIGELOW (fourteen), a pessimistic intuitive.
The lake has been stolen by the scheming town mayor TREELORD PUTT and his scheming secretary REENA SQUATLEY, together with the rotten villain BRAK MUCKWAD. They have successfully routed the lake underground through old lava tubes inside the extinct volcano Peewalkum Blow, which sits on the opposite shore of the lake. The lake has been moved to a reservoir on the far side of the mountain where the gang has set up a camp to get rich bottling and selling the water as a miraculous tonic.
The townspeople had wanted no part in having a factory in their village; so the Mayor and his henchmen simply stole the lake.
During a series of harrowing events, both on the outside and inside the volcano mountain, including almost being caught in a fiery eruption, the team--aided by the phenomenal feats of Willi--uncovers the devious plot and captures the smelly thieves.
The huge lake is returned to the village, to great celebration and a reward for the team.
