Hi I am Elicien Jules author of My Soul Bare Naketh. I consider this work to be pseudo-fiction via poetry. It is like a documentary of my life yet shouldn’t be taken literally. It is a collection of most of the works I have written which consist of approximately 270 poems ranging from September 1995 to September 2010 along with the philosophical bonuses of 40 Seeds to Freedom and Julesanism.
The works range all over the place from Street life, to puppy love , mature love , death, suicide, depression, conquest and most importantly God my main source of ethereal inspiration. I feel that poetry should not be limited to rules of writing it, except for those you place on yourself so do not expect to find the usual, if this is what you are looking for this book is not for you at all. Some of the poetry rhymes while others doesn’t. A lot of the poems could be considered short while others long. Certain poems have a lot of curse words in them while the majority uses colloquial or grandiose SAT words. My aim after all is to be eclectic and I hope that is the impression I leave with you as the reader.
This book is a no-holds barred attempt by me to divulge myself of emotions inside whether positive or negative that either would have killed me, placed me in jail or left me in awkward social situations. So instead of saying it out loud I sagaciously wrote them down into the artistic genre of poetry. I won’t say writing this book saved my life but it gave it meaning a hope that someone out there struggling with the same issues anonomysly could connect maybe even save them from killing themselves, it is that deep. At times I felt that I divulged too much of my spiritual essence on these pages wishing to publish these works posthumously but with the influence of friends and family I have pushed up the release date, obviously.
Finally prospective reader I leave you with these words, “Life is too short to be diplomatic,” I have left more than my heart in these words of poetry I have left my soul in between the lines forming the paper. My accounts of life, living and death are so raw and uncompromising that the title of the book speaks for itself. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Elicien Jules
