It was early Monday morning. Allen had just walked into his Miami Beach office. There was a call on line two. It was Jim Peters from Aspen, Colorado. They had met, trained and graduated together at Quantico.
Allen and Jim were agents working for the STF, the S-ecurity T-ask F-orce, an arm of Homeland Securities formed primarily to fight terrorism after the 911 attach on the New York World Trade Center.
Jim’s first assignment was to investigate an underworld Russian ex-KGB agent Stanislov, Stas, Petrovich a leftover from the cold war. Stas, working out of and hiding in Denver, was a smuggler dealing in small arms, explosives, and whatever dirty tricks made him money.
Jim needed Allen’s expertise in this case. He had never dealt with the KGB or any other Russian agents before.
Stas’ girl friend Natalia, who he had met at the University of Moscow and had an on going sexual and business relationship with for years, followed him to the States.
She had attached herself to the Holmes family by design. It was this link to Stas and the Holmes family that dragged Jim and eventually Allen into Aspen and the case of the hit and run an accident involving an Olympic athlete, a trial that had gained world wide attention.
Kimberly Holmes the young wife of Alex Holmes a wealthy and powerful billionaire was being accused of being at the wheel of the vehicle that “Hit” Aaron Philips the Olympian athlete, who was in town training for the coming Winter Olympics and “Run” from the scene of the accident.
Aaron’s accident had peeked Allen’s interest. He had been working on a file for months while at the CIA and had carried it over to the STF. It involved several “Unsolved Accidents” pertaining solely to Olympic Athletes.
It was during Allen’s investigation and building of the case against Stas and Natalia, that he was contacted by Walter his superintendant at the agency. A new assignment was on the way. It had something to do about a plot to disable Florida’s water supply.
Hit and Run takes the reader through twists and turns, a series of murders, an attempted murder and to a final helicopter chase to apprehend Stas and Natalia. The readers are taken through a tunnel of excitement and suspense then left with an unpredictable ending.
