Liza Johnson is “ripe for marriage at the grand age of 20”, trapped in a society where gentlemen want to marry her and plunder her and her brother’s inheritance. When presented with the invention of an airship, she gathers together a crew and leaves her life behind, hoping to find adventure and a home. Instead, she finds a religion that doesn’t tolerate women or technology, a traitor and the secret to her civilization.
