THE FUR COUNTRY follows the adventures of an 1859 Hudson's Bay Company expedition to establish a post at 70 degrees north--well above the Arctic Circle on the Arctic Ocean in Canada's northwest. After the post is established, an earthquake unleashes an uncanny series of events that the expedition must survive.
