Amie is ready to give up on her marriage when husband Allen shows up at the air terminal with his pregnant lover. Fearful she will be unable to adequately provide for her three sons on her own, she opts to give him another chance. When she learns he is still up to his tricks, she takes the boys and moves out of town. Having lived a dull life for a year, her divorced friend Joan introduces her to Mat, also separated and lonely.
