The Accomplished Muskrat Trapper, self-published by Arno Erdman Schmidt (34 pages, 3 illustrations, copyright Oct 30, 1922, public domain), although historical, is an extremely useful booklet for trappers of today. It is well written, easy to understand, and provides many good tips on how to bait, set and catch muskrats wherever they live. Sets for all types of situations are described, from dry land to under ice. Information on handling, skinning, stretching and grading muskrat fur is also included in this work.
