Father Willow's Daughter

In a secret wood hidden from the eyes of normal folk, mystical creatures seek refuge from an unfriendly world. There, an orphan was taken in and raised by a forestchild to be a Guardian of the forest. Young Linna was taught from a tender age how to do little fae tricks and other small magic--things most humans only dreamed of--so that she could safeguard the home of her special friends.

As an apprentice, Linna labors during the day to keep the forest hale. At night, she dreamwalks to Faerie, where her adopted parent, Father Willow, shares with her the delights of his otherworldy home.

As her seventeenth birthday approaches, Linna feels a change begin within her. She is becoming more powerful and more confident. But, instead of letting her grow tall and full, her adoptive parents keep trimming her back. When they forbid her from visiting a nearby tribe of fae folk, she begins to question them for the first time. Are they really worried about her safety, or is there something else behind the ban?
