Why Is My Child Hearing-Impaired?

My wife and I have ten wonderful children, four of whom are hearing-impaired. When our seventh child’s hearing impairment was confirmed as an infant, I immediately began thinking about the sovereignty of God in creating the deaf. After all, in Exodus 4:11, God takes credit for making some people deaf so He must have very good reasons for it. Of course there are questions we cannot answer, but this one thing we do know: our God is the all-wise and good Creator, whose purposes and counsel far exceed ours.
