Rainbowland

Not since Orwell’s 1984 has there been a book that carries so much political punch as Barnes’ Rainbowland. This book is so rich in political satire that it borders on farce. Written in a New Age language it skewers all politics and events in what was formally known as America, now called Rainbowland.

You have the crazy left and the crazy right. You have a nation that has lost its freedoms. A nation that lives in scattered groups of peoples from all over the world. These peoples are not interested in the survival of Rainbowland, but only in the survival of their own little nation states within.

Students are allowed to attack teachers so as to keep up their self-esteem.

Harden criminals roam free, while decent citizens must live in fear behind bars in their own homes.

Conservatives are housed in a zoo.

You have never read a book like Rainbowland. And like all good satire it is filled with truths. Truths you will recognize. Truths that will come to haunt you in its truthfulness.
