Daphne Peters watched from the door of the stall as Chase Masters saddled Del Rio—her favorite mare. Chase was working the Peters’ ranch for the summer before heading off to college in the fall. He couldn’t have been more than nineteen or so, but the muscles bulging in his arms as he tightened the saddle’s straps belonged to a man.
At twenty-five, she wasn’t that much older than him and therefore she had no problems accepting April’s dare to do the stable boy.
Daphne swallowed the lump of lust crowding her throat, and said, “You handle your girlfriend with such force?”
He didn’t miss a beat, nor did he look at her. “I don’t have a girlfriend.”
“Okay.” She moved a couple of steps inside the stall. “Do you handle women with such confidence?”
He tightened the last strap and turned to Daphne, placing his hands on his hips. “You’re well on your way to finding out.” He gave her one of those looks that said, back off or I’ll teach you a lesson you’re not likely to forget.
“Teasing is not allowed,” she said, moving toward him and the horse.
Chase latched onto her and pulled her roughly to him. He kissed her long and hard and hungrily, grinding his pelvis against hers.
She let out a soft sigh as their lips parted. Just as roughly, he pushed her away. “Now that you see I mean business...you might want to stop that.”
Daphne planted her riding crop in the middle of his chest and raked it slowly down toward his crotch.
