WASHINGTON SQUARE

Washington Square is a short novel by Henry James. It is a tragicomedy between a dull but sweet daughter and her domineering father. The plot of the novel is based upon a true story told to the author by his close friend-Fanny Kemble. The book is many times compared to Jane Austen's work for its intense focus on family relationships.
