An Obituary for Major Reno

Major Marcus Reno was the scapegoat in the Battle of the Little Bighorn, in which George Custer and his command perished. Reno, who was blamed for the disaster, spent the rest of his life trying to restore his good name. In this biographical novel, he asks a reporter, Joseph Richler, to restore his honor. Richler reluctantly plunges in, and his quest takes him to the darkest corners of the army's officer corps, where he draws his own conclusions about the battle and the man despised for losing it.
