Escape From Devil's Horse

Twelve-year-old Michael's life is tragically altered by the death of his mother and the actions of his immature aunt's ne'er do well husband. Abandoned and assaulted, Michael becomes trapped between a system of truant officers, unscrupulous police, and the outcasts of Devil's Horse , Florida. Facing those who want to do what's best for him and those who want to do him in, he sets out across three states, armed with determination and youthful resilience, to find his aunt and avoid becoming a permanent resident of the orphan farm.
