The Scarlet Letter

It's 1642 in a Puritan village near Boston, Massachusetts. Her husband presumed dead, Hester Prynne finds herself shunned and reduced to taking in other people's sewing when she has a daughter who was obviously not that of her husband. As her daughter grows, Hester redeems herself with charity work, but no one realizes that she is holding the secrets of two prominent men in the community.
