After the break-up of her marriage, Margie finds herself in a world that has changed so much since she was single that she is not sure how to handle it. In a series of letters to her best friend, she documents her attempts to make a new life for herself and her daughter. Semi-autobiographical, this book is funny, nasty, irreverent and often poignant.
PASSAGE FROM THE BOOK:
"I got home around 2:30 and got my biggest surprise of all. Art was in bed with our nineteen-year-old babysitter. I pulled the garden hose in through Meggie's bedroom window and let them have it full blast. Her clothes were in the bathroom. I put them in the toilet, locked the bathroom door, and pulled it shut. She ran out, crying hysterically, begging for her clothes. I told her she'd get more customers without them and literally hauled her naked ass out the front door."
