Into Thin Air

Investigative reporter, Mark Holman, is sent to a small Connecticut town to gather information about missing persons. With the help of the town librarian and the aid of a retired WW II correspondent, he comes to believe these disappearances are something other than the usual lost or missing persons. Police reports, interviews, phone calls, and meeting Billy, a local trapper, all add credence to the feeling that he and others know what is the reason for the mysterious disappearances. A combat Marine veteran of the Pacific campaign, he still has flashbacks of cruel engagements and bouts of Malaria. Mark realizes that in order to prove his findings and gain help for the victims, he must engage in yet another battle with the powers that seek to curtail his findings. Information acquired through research and the lives of the people involved should keep the reader focused and turning pages well into the night.
