Infant Sleep Position and SIDS: Questions and Answers for Health Care Providers

This booklet gives an effort to educate families and caregivers about putting healthy babies on their backs to sleep, to help reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). This booklet, intended for health care providers and those with a medical background, answers some of the more common questions about sleep position, safe sleep environment, and SIDS and describes some NICHD-supported research on the topic.
