In June, 1994, the nude body of teenage girl was found on the roof of an apartment building in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. The high school freshmen had been stabbed three times in the abdomen. Two hours later she was dead. Her name, Sandra Leyden

Officers around 5:30PM took a young man from the front steps of his East Flatbush home. Forty-three hours later he was facing murder charges. The Marine bound high school senior was later tried and sentenced to Life for the murder of Ms. Sandra Leyden.
His name, Jamison Pratt

While in prison, Pratt was subjected to repeated trips to isolation for breaking the rules, soon thereafter he began displaying the mental stresses of solitary confinement. Pratt began hearing voices, whispers, and seeing ghosts due to spending a large portion of his incarceration housed in twenty-three hour isolated confinement. Pratt, 25 mysteriously died in isolation. Several months after his death the actual killers of Sandra Leyden turned their badges in and made full confessions.

Before Pratt’s death he was documenting the voices that were constantly craving for attention in his head. Jamison developed profiles for each voice he heard and kept a journal of each of voice telling their story. Today we proudly present “Isolation” The unheard Voices of Jamison Pratt.
