Alternating Currents

The year is 1886. Down on her luck, broke and near eviction, charlatan medium, Madame Helena Petrovsky thinks the gates of wealth and opportunity have finally opened when she is called to perform a séance for the daughter of the richest man in New York City. How can Petrovsky possibly know that this special séance--her final chance at financial redemption--will be ruined by the first bona fide psychic experience she's ever had: momentary contact with a stranger's spirit at the exact instant of his grisly electrical murder.
Plunged by the event into a world of inventors and inventions, Petrovsky must navigate between a Samuel Tinglitter, murderous inventor; Nikola Tesla, an obsessive electrical genius; Katherine Johnson, a sexually frustrated socialite; Katherine Morgan, a crusader for woman's rights; her domineering father J. P. Morgan; Thomas Edison; and a cast of other enchanting Victorian characters--all while trying to uncover her own repressed spiritual past.
